Dacoma: Funeral service for Dale Wayne Allen, age 74 will be Tuesday, August 31, 2004 at 2:00 P.M. at the Church of God in Dacoma with Rev. Glen Edmondson officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery north of Carmen with arrangements by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Cherokee. Condolences or memories may be shared with the family online at www.lanmanfuneralhomes.com. Visitation on Monday will be 9:00 A.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home in Cherokee and after the service at the church.

Wayne was born February 9, 1930 on a farm southeast of Dacoma to Raymond and Ruth Newlin Allen and passed away on Saturday, August 28, 2004 at his home in Dacoma. Wayne was raised in the Dacoma area and graduated from Dacoma High School. Wayne and Winifred Morse were married in Cherokee on May 25, 1949 and to this union three daughters were born, Rita, Debbie and Tesa. Wayne was a lifelong farmer in the Dacoma area and drove a school bus for many years. He had also served as City Clerk of Dacoma. In addition to farming, Wayne worked at Vornado Fan and Beech Aircraft. On March 4, 1988, Wayne and Ann Burnidge were married in Cherokee after which time they continued to make their home in Dacoma. He attended Dacoma Church of God and was a member of Dacoma Lions Club.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Ann of Dacoma; four daughters, Rita Lamle and husband, Ken of Medford, Debbie Settle and husband, Larry of Kingfisher, Tesa Settle and husband, Troy of Runaway Bay, Texas, Natalie Page and husband, Greg of Gladstone, Australia; one son, John Reynolds and wife, Tisha of Ponca City; nine grandchildren, Lana Cecil and husband, Jason, Blake Lamle and wife, Crystal, Lacy Settle and fiancé, Gregg Moore, Shea Settle and wife, Trisha, Lindsay Vandiver and husband, Casey, Lara Macy, Leia Laird and husband, Spence, Lori Setttle and Henry Page; six great-grandchildren, Alyssa Cecil, Kailei and Kaleb Settle, Jena Macy and Gracie and Abby Vandiver; and one brother, Byron Allen of Alva.

He is preceded in death by two brothers, William Clifford Allen and Emory Allen and one sister, Ina Mae Allen Patrick.

Memorials may be given to the Dacoma Church of God through the funeral home.
