Funeral services for Paul Alexander will be conducted by Pastor Ken Krepps and Pheirthine M. Sanders (Miller) on Wednesday, September 2, 2009, at 12:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Okay, Oklahoma. Burial will be held at the Ft. Gibson National Cemetery.
Paul Alexander was born to Minnie (Purty) and Tom William Alexander on November 23, 1919 in Park Springs, Texas.
Paul was raised in the Oktaha area. He enjoyed a full and happy childhood. In April 1942_Paul enlisted in the Army where he earned the rank of T5 and was discharged on October 22, 1945 He was awarded a campaign metal with three bronze stars. Paul worked for Terminix Pest Control until he opened his own business with a partner called AA Exterminating ( Alexander & Adkins) where he worked for twenty years. He loved the times he was able to spend with his wife Marie of the home along with his children and grandchildren. Paul was an avid fisherman where he loved to go fishing behind his house in the river and in the Ft. Gibson Lake. Several of Paul’s past times that he enjoyed doing was mowing and working in the yard and tending to his garden.
He is preceded in death by his parents Tom and Minnie Alexander. He is survived by his wife of the home, Marie; sons Bill and wife Carolyn of Okay, Ricky and wife Denise of Gulf port, Mississippi and Jimmy of Muskogee. One Daughter; Tammy Morton and husband Dennis of Okay, One brother; Duane Pittman of Oktaha, Ok, One sister; Nellie Ellison of Oktaha, Ok and Two “Very special Sister-in-laws” Jean Brooks and Joyce Brooks. Seven grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren . He will be greatly missed by a host of other family and friends.
A family greeting will be held on Tuesday evening 6:00 p.m. at Shipman Funeral Home in Wagoner. Family requests that memorial donations be made to the First Baptist Church of Okay, OK.
