Funeral service will be 11 a.m., Tues., Aug. 11, 2009, at First Baptist Church, Chelsea.
Burial will follow at Chelsea Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Mon. 1-8 p.m., and family will greet friends 5-7 p.m.

Funeral service for Kenneth DeWayne “Whimp” Adair will be 11 a.m., Tues., Aug. 11, 2009, at First Baptist Church, Chelsea, with Pastor Jay McAlister officiating. Burial with military honors by the U.S. Army will follow at Chelsea Cemetery under the direction of Chelsea Funeral Home & Crematory.

Kenneth died Fri., Aug. 7, 2009, at his home at the age of 75.

The son of Eldrige and Fern (Ketchum) Adair was born Aug. 23, 1933, in Chelsea. Kenneth attended Alluwe school, and went on to serve in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. On May 28, 1978, Kenneth married Colleen Marlin in Las Vegas, NV. Kenneth worked for the Chelsea Fire Dept. and the Chelsea Post Office as a letter carrier. He retired in 1990, and then went to work for Samco Publishing. Kenneth enjoyed fishing, medal detecting, and coin collecting. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Kenneth is survived by his wife, Colleen of the home; son, Rick Adair and wife, Shirley of Chelsea; daughters: Lisa Park and husband, Daryl, and Gina Adair all of Chelsea; step-daughter, Deb Ortner and husband, Danny of Bartlesville; brother, Bill Adair and wife, Rosa of Chelsea; sisters: Lois Joseph of McKinney, TX, and Mary Hanna of Preston, TX; sister-in-law, Joyce Adair of Coffeyville, KS; grandchildren: Jordan and Monica Lewis, and Jennifer Greene; great-grandchildren: Mason Greene, Makayla Moore, and Lillian Lewis; step-grandson, James Clements; and Beloved Molly.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ellis “Cotton” Adair; and great-granddaughter, Madison.
