Graveside service for Fay Akin will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 17, 2007 at Oakhaven Memorial Gardens. Pastor Todd Bergman will officiate. Services are under the direction of the Musgrove-Merriott-Smith Funeral Service and Crematory.

Fay A. Akin passed away Thursday February 15, 2007 in Claremore at the age of 79.

The daughter of Everett F. and Virgie Kidwell Dunn was born August 17, 1927 in Versailles, Missouri. As a young girl she moved to Knobknoster. There she attended and graduated from Knobknoster High School. After graduation she moved to Kansas City, where she began working. On a trip back to her hometown of Versailles, she became reacquainted with Maynard “Fritz” Akin. Once married they lived in Belleville, Illinois. As a military wife they moved to several areas. While living in the Washington DC area she began working in real estate. This would eventually lead to her opening her own real estate firm in Kansas City. After several years in Kansas City she and Fritz moved back home to Versailles, before moving to Claremore to be near there daughter a few years ago. She was a member of the Westminister Presbyterian Church in Versailles. Her family was a charter member there. Her hobbies include reading, working crossword puzzles, and visiting with her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and brothers, Wendell and Ben Dunn.

Survivors include her husband Fritz of the home; daughter, Terry (Trujillo) Carter and husband Wayne of Claremore; granddaughter, Tiffany (Trujillo) Mann and husband Daniel of Owasso; great-grandchildren, Ashley and Isaac Mann of Owasso; brother, Gary Dunn and wife Marilyn of St. Louis, Missouri; brother-in-law, Norman Akin of Versailles, Missouri, and many nieces and nephews.
