Burial will follow at the Highland Cemetery in Inola.

Red Adkins of Wagoner died Tuesday, February 6, 2007 in Tulsa at the age of 79. He was born In Sapulpa, OK on April 4, 1927 to Allie and Ethel (Carr) Adkins. Red graduated with honors in 1947 at the Inola High School. He married Hilda (Spurlock) on August 30, 1947 in Claremore and have shared a life long love affair. Together they raised three children; Sandra Ligon and David of OKC, OK, Kathryn Stuckey of Owasso and Susan Cargill and Rick of Silver City, OK.
Red was a member of the Delta Masonic Lodge # 425 in Tulsa and was a WWII Veteran of the U.S. Navy. He enjoyed fishing and was a member of the Buckaroos Square Dancing in Tulsa.
Red worked as a supervisor for American Airlines for 23 years, retiring in 1981.
He is also survived by three brothers; Earl Adkins of Woodland, California, James Summerlin and his wife Jane and Wayne Waldrop and his wife Wahlele all of Claremore. Eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

He was a loving Husband, Father, Brother and Grandfather loved by all who knew him.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, February 8, 2007 at the Inola First Baptist Church. Burial will be held at the Highland Cemetery in Inola with Reverends Wesley Graver and Linzy Slayden, Jr. officiating.
