When she was four, her parents moved 13 miles Northwest of Alva, Oklahoma. She attended the Greenleaf Country School and high school in Alva. Following high school, she worked as a nanny for many family members and friends. During this time, she also worked at a dress factory in Peoria, Illinois for a two year period. On December 16, 1934, she was united in marriage to Simon Allenbach and to this union two children were born. They made their home on a farm east of Burlington for 52 years. Alice continued living there until October of 2000, when she moved to the Kiowa Manor. Life on the farm was always busy. A big yard and a big garden kept all busy and with her canning, kept the family in food until the next summer. She designed and sewed many of her and her daughter's clothes. Ceramics, canning for the fairs, quilting, baking and sewing occupied an important part of her life. She spent over 50 years in the Home Demonstration Club. As grandchildren came on the scene, she created cake to look like the birthday cards she bought. She found great joy in entertaining family and friends with a huge home cooked meal.

Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Simon, July 15, 1986; her father on October 14, 1968; her mother on October 9, 1970; three brothers, Ralph on May 11, 2002, Arlo on November 2, 1953, Morice on July 8, 2001.

Mantz and husband, Terry of Georgetown, Texas; six grandchildren, Randall and Joanie Allenbach of Wichita, Kansas, Amy and Ted Schoneboom, of Independence, Missouri, Elaine and Mark Johnson of Burlington, Oklahoma, Richard and Candace Allenbach of Wichita, Kansas, Simmone and Heath Malone of Dallas, Texas, Todd and Kristy Mantz of Georgetown, Texas, 15 great-grandchildren, one brother; Wayne Schupbach of Wichita, Kansas and a host of relatives and friends.

Memorials may be made to the Burlington Education Fund, Apostolic Christian Church or Southwind Hospice through the funeral home.
