NOBLE, OKLAHOMA-Formerly of Hardtner, Kansas, Joyce Delores Allen, 81, passed away in Norman, Oklahoma on Saturday, December 31, 2005. Funeral service will be Wednesday, January 4, 2006 at 10:00 A.M. at the Zion Lutheran Church in Alva, Oklahoma with Pastor Mark Bersche officiating. Burial will follow in the Hardtner-Elwood Cemetery at Hardtner, Kansas. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Kiowa, Kansas. Joyce Delores Allen was born in Wichita, Kansas on April 8, 1924 to James D. and Emma Kunzman Beem and passed from this life on December 31, 2005. She graduated from the Sacred Heart Academy in Wichita. On May 14, 1946 she and Phillip Wenton Allen were united in marriage. They made their home in Hardtner where she lived for thirty-three years; he passed away on September 4, 1980. She moved to Woodward, Oklahoma where she was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church and then moved to Noble, Oklahoma to be closer to her daughter. She loved her garden, especially her roses. She had her two dogs, Babbette and Muffin, which were her closest companions.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; an infant daughter, Angela Faye Campbell; two half brothers, Donald and Gene Willimson.
She is survived by two daughters, Larissa Long and husband, Jim of Lawrence, Kansas and Linda Allen of Norman, Oklahoma; one granddaughter, Kerri Lawlor and husband, Matt; two great-grandsons, Calvin and Nolan Lawlor and many other relatives.
The casket will be open at Lanman Funeral Home in Kiowa on Tuesday, January 3, 2006 from 2:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. with the family being present from 6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. to receive friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society through the funeral home.
